Brass Pack


Under the direction of Jonathan Bhatia, the University of Nevada, Reno Trumpet Pack strives to educate and inspire the next generation of musicians. Regardless of whether you have a focus in Music Performance, Music Education, or a general Bachelor of Arts degree, you will be taught the tools and skills necessary to attain your goals. The University of Nevada, Reno Horn Pack, under the leadership of Dr. Natalie Brooke Higgins, is comprised of both undergraduate and graduate music majors and minors pursuing degrees at the University of Nevada, Reno.  One of the primary goals of the UNR Horn Pack is to not only heighten the musical skills of these talented horn performers and educators, but to also equip members with visionary skills necessary for a successful career. For more information on joining the UNR Horn Pack contact Dr. Higgins.

Jens Lindemann

As the first classical brass soloist to ever receive the Order of Canada, Jens Lindemann is hailed as one of the most celebrated artists in his instrument’s history and was recently named “International Brass Personality of the Year” (Brass Herald).


Amy Bowers

As an active Los Angeles freelance musician, Amy regularly performs with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.


TJ Tesh

In addition to his position as the Assistant Professor of Trumpet at the University of Southern Mississippi, TJ is a current member of the Alias Brass Company, and a Yamaha Performing Artist.


Renee Bhatia

Renee Bhatia is the current Instrumental Music Director at Millikan High School in Long Beach, CA. In addition to a strong background in piano and flute, Renee also boasts a Masters Degree in conducting through the American Band College, a program affiliated with Sam Houston State University.

Adam Wolf

In addition to hosting his internationally recognized podcast, Pathways, Adam Wolf is an active freelance musician, recording artist, and a Conn-Selmer Performing Artist.


Erick Jovel

As an extremely versatile trumpeter and well-rounded musician, Erick has built a substantial freelance career and holds the position of 2nd Trumpet of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and regularly performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Long Beach Symphony


Matthew Haislip

In addition to his position as the Assistant Professor of Horn, Matthew serves as the Principal Horn of the Starkville Symphony, and is a founding member of the Quintasonic Brass Quintet.

Derek Ganong

Derek Ganong runs a progressive trumpet studio at Boise State University, while holding his position of Assistant Professor of Music, Derek is also the Principal Trumpet of the Boise Baroque Chamber Orchestra, and Opera Idaho.

Tim Dueppen


Associate Professor Trombone and Euphonium at Lamar University. Principal Trombone of the Symphony of Southeast Texas, and member of the Alias Brass Company.


Adam Bhatia


Active freelance and studio musician in Los Angeles, CA. Performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Long Beach Symphony, and Burbank Symphony. Former prize winner of the International Trumpet Guild and National Trumpet Competition.
